A Pumpkin Patch Visit!

On October 22nd we spent a beautiful afternoon with the kids and Grandma Holly! We went to lunch and then took the kids to a pumpkin patch in South Jordan! It was the perfect day!

The boys were so excited to get their own wheelbarrow- just their size!

Kaleb lounged back and enjoyed the sunshine!

After we bought our pumpkins we went through an easy corn maze and went on a tractor ride! It was the perfect fall day!

At the near by airport they had a showing of a B-17 plane. This is one of Curtis' favorite planes and he was thrilled that we could go and take a tour of it.. and had we won the lottery he could have gone for a 30 minute ride, too!

Curtis' dad joined us, it was so nice to spend time with him!

The kids had a great time walking around in the plane. I wasn't up for going in, but I heard it was really cool inside!

I enjoyed this day! It was so nice to get out as a family and do something simple that all of us could enjoy! We had a fabulous time!

Grocery Store Field Trip!

For Community Service week Cameron's Preschool class got to go to Macey's Grocery Store to see how it worked! He was so excited for his field trip! He was able to tour the bakery, freezers, meat department and look at how the cash registers worked!

They showed the kids how they made roses from frosting and gave each kid a cookie with a rose on it! They loved it!

Cameron held hands with these little girls the entire field trip! He wouldn't allow me to ask questions about the situation, but he said he liked it!

Hobble Creek 2011

Every year in early October we spend the day at Hobble Creek in Spanish Fork Canyon with Curtis' extended family. The weather was PERFECT!! As soon as we got there the boys found some huge caterpillars and they were so excited! We got some granola bar boxes and they made their new friend a home for the day. As the day went on they added about 8 new caterpillars to their box!

We took a break early in the day and played a quick game of kick ball! The boys had a great time!

Kaleb spent most of the day with his Grandma Holly. He loved laying in the shade and crawling around to get into everything!

I look forward to Hobble Creek every year! It was a great day!

For my mom's birthday she wanted to spend the day at Hogle Zoo! We were so excited to spend the day outside and the weather was beautiful!

The zoo was not busy at all! We were able to wander and take our time at all of the exhibits! It was such a beautiful day!

After the zoo we went back to our house and made Grandma dinner! We had pancakes, hashbrowns, eggs and sausage! It was delish!

Lagoon!!

On September 17th we decided to go to Lagoon with my mom! Curtis' parents were so kind to watch Kaleb for the day and Curtis and I enjoyed spending some much needed time with Kaden & Cameron. They have been such good big brothers since Kaleb was born and we felt it would be nice for us to spend some quality time with them! We were able to ride rides with them, talk about everything and enjoy our day!

It took Kaden a couple of hours to warm up to riding rides. He got very nervous from the moment we got to the rides. He must have forgotten how much fun he had in years past.

Curtis and I forced him to go on the egg drop. He cried the entire time but admittedly said it was a fun ride once it was over. He rode it again later that day and told me that he wasn't going to say it was scary unless he tried it. But he refused to go on the Colossus with Curtis. That just wasn't going to happen!

Labor Day 2011

Curtis worked the weekend before Labor Day so we didn't have plans to go anywhere so on Monday we decided to go miniature golfing with the kids and my mom. She had a Groupon so it worked out great!!

We decided to do the Lighthouse Course because the line was shorter and it worked out perfectly! The kids had such a great time! And of course on the first hole Kaden's ball went straight into a bush!! It was fun to watch the guys search for it!

After golfing we decided to get a bucket of chicken and go to the park! The weather was perfect and it was so nice to relax and enjoy the day!

Have Some Corn!!

I'll admit, there is nothing like summer corn on the cob! Anything else is just not the same! So this year my mom and I decided to put up freezer corn to last us the winter... we ended up putting up enough to last a couple of years!

The boys got in on the fun!! Kaden typically won't eat corn unless it's on the cob, but now he loves it! He finally put two and two together that all corn comes from a cob! Silly kid!

Cameron had a great time helping out too, his favorite was the little itty bitty tiny corns of cob he found!

So we husked the corn and put them in a big laundry basket and then washed it all with the hose outside! This worked awesome! Then we took it off the cob cooked it for a couple of minutes with sugar and salt and bagged it right up! It lays flat in the freezer and tastes delicious!

So if you ever need some good corn stop on by... I have plenty!!!

A Day at the Zoo

On August 17th we went and spent a full day at the zoo with LuAnn, Abi and Autumn (Doodle). Doodle goes to school with Cameron and they call each other boyfriend and girlfriend. She blushes every times she sees him and he tries to hide his big grin!

First Days of School

The first days of school! Oh boy! The weeks before school started the boys were SO excited for school to begin! Kaden was looking forward to going to school all day and most importantly the fact that he got to play on the big kid playground!

I was simply proud of myself for getting through the day without crying!

Cameron attends Little Learners Academy - We love his school! His teachers are Miss Toshia and Miss Jenn this year! He is so excited to work towards his alphabet crown!

We were so excited that Kaden got back into Diamond Ridge Elementary again this year! I don't care for the school in our boundaries so I was thrilled that they had room for him this year! His teacher is Miss. Turner. He said his goal is to be able to write better stories!

Stitches... OH BOY!

We were getting ready to go to my moms house for dinner on a Sunday afternoon when all of the sudden we heard a loud hollow thud, followed by the crying of Cameron.

Of course my little monkey has done this several times before, running, jumping and bumping his head only to shake it off and walk away. Well, sadly this time it was different.

He had fallen and hit his head on the corner of the leather sofa.

We immediately took the other kids to their Grandma's house and took Cameron to instacare to be checked out.

When we got there they put some medication on his head to numb it so they could do stitches. He said that it was okay, because he didn't care. He had everyone laughing!

He was such a trooper! He had the nurse and the doctor laughing the whole time! He kept saying that it didn't hurt and that he didn't care if it did! He was so good!

This is just one of many injuries that I am sure we will deal with in the future..

Sweet Grandma Bessie

There aren't enough words to express how I feel about my Great-Grandma. She was an amazing woman. She was sensitive and cared so much for others but she had that fiestyness about her that could make you laugh. My sweet Great-Grandma passed away on August 16, 2011.

We were so fortunate to be able to spend so much time with her in her last days. She hadn't been eating very well for a month or so and was admitted to the hospital on August 10th because she was coughing up blood. They kept her for observation and started her on antibiotics. Her children knew that it was her time to go, time to return to her sweet husband and her loving Heavenly Father. So they decided to forgo the antibiotics. They knew she would go peacefully and that the Lord would watch over her, and she did.

I feel so blessed that my boys were able to meet their Great-Great-Grandma. We have spent several moments with her over the last few years and it was important to me that they say goodbye and tell her how much they loved her. Kaden understood a lot of what was going on, Cameron still asks a lot of questions. He just knows that Grandma Bessie is in Heaven and he says that he will see her again someday.

I was privileged to read her obituary at her funeral. It was such a beautiful funeral. So many wonderful things were said about her. So many funny stories about my Grandma. The thing that I took with me the most is how much my Grandma tried to be of service to others. No matter what her situation, she would be of service to someone each day.

It was so wonderful to see my Grandpa & Grandma from North Carolina. It has been a couple of years since we have seen them so it was nice to spend several days with them. We miss them everyday!

I feel at peace knowing my Grandma went so peacefully. I feel even more privileged to have had her in my life. I will be forever grateful for her and her silent ways of teaching me and my children.

Cameron's 4th Birthday seemed to spread across several weeks! Curtis was gone to Idaho for his pre-deployment training so we had his birthday party with family and friends on August 4th after he got home! But we had plenty of fun celebrating on July 26th!

Of course my kids can't have a birthday without their pancake stack and a candle! I love that they look forward to it every year!

Curtis' parents took us out to lunch and celebrated with Cameron on his birthday! He got an awesome pin on his shirt from Grandpa and Grandma that said Happy 4th Birthday! All day he made sure to proudly show it off!

For dinner Cameron wanted to go to Joe's Crab Shack for dinner (he calls it Joes' Crap Shack) so he could play on the playground! We went with Grandma Lesa, Chase and Gage. Afterwards we went back home and celebrated!

**** BIG BIRTHDAY BASH!****

On August 4th we celebrated with our family and friends! Grandpa Brian rented Cameron an awesome bounce house for the day and the kids had a blast!!

All of the kids got light sabers that we made from pool noodles! They loved them!

Cameron got so many wonderful gifts! We are so blessed to have such great family and friends!

Curtis, Kaden, Kaleb and Megan got Cameron a Dune Racer! He was SO excited!! He has played with it nearly every day since! He is quite the good driver, too!

I can't believe my big guy is 4 years old!! He is such a blessing to us!

My 4 favorite things about Cameron are:

1. He can make us laugh all the time!

2. He is such a tough kid! I think he could be an Olympian someday!

3. He is such a sweet heart, he is always concerned for others.

4. He has the best smile in the world!

(Of course I could go on and on, but in celebration of the big 4, we will stick with that!)

And finally at the end of the day all things must come to an end! We rented our bounce house from All About Bounce and they were awesome! They gave Kaden & Cameron 'Bounce Crew' t-shirts and let them help put it away!

It was such a great day!

Pirate Palooza!!

Every year the 1-211 (Curtis' Unit) puts on the Pirate Palooza! They serve a lunch and have a lot of fun activities for the kids! This year the Palooza was at the Benson Gristmill in Tooele. It was such a nice day and the boys had so much fun!!

The movie theaters at Jordan Commons donated the Pirate Head from the Pirates of the Caribbean movie to the 1-211. It fits perfectly considering their theme!

Cameron was so excited to try the rock wall! Kaden was very hesitant and would only climb a few feet before getting down! Curtis went all the way to the top, but the boys weren't going to try that far!

As always, it was a great day to spend time as a family!!

Go Pirates!!

Foreigner & Journey Concert!

On July 21st my mom surprised me with 2nd row tickets to the Foreigner and Journey Concert!! I was SO excited! It was just what I needed! I had so much fun spending time with my mom and taking a break from the daily grind.

We were right under this speaker!! I got my hearing back a few days later!!

I was most excited to see Journey in concert but at the end of the night I was singing Foreigner! They put on an amazing show!

Now this guy is no Steve Perry, but he had such an amazing voice! I thought he did all of the classic Journey songs justice! It was such a great show!

Days of '47 Rodeo!

On July 19th we went to the Days of '47 Rodeo at the Maverick Center! The boys had never been to a rodeo so it was fun to do something different! They loved the bull riding but they thought that the cattle roping was mean. They felt bad for the small calves that were roped and tied down.

During Summer Vacation Kaden often complained of headaches. I knew his visit to the eye doctor was coming up so I took him in for his annual visit. Sure enough our little man had to get glasses! His poor little eyes would work so hard all morning and then give himself a headache in the afternoon because his eyes were so tired! He looks like a little stud and he loves wearing them!

He was SO nervous at the eye doctor. He promised the doctor last year that when he turned six he would do eye drops at his next visit. Sure enough, the doctor made him follow through with that promise! He got eye drops, after a little bit of crying and we were able to determine he had a far sighted problem and an astigmatism. The glasses are helping him SO much!!

Salt Lake Bees Game!

On July 5th we went to a Salt Lake Bees game for a family night! The boys both got tickets from their T-Ball season and it was a great day to get out as a family!

Our tickets were for seats and it was obvious our boys were not going to sit still for very long! So Curtis and I decided to get some drinks and ice cream and sit on the grass, it was so much fun! The boys were able to run around and get their wiggles out while we were able to enjoy the game!

A Trip to Lehman Caves

Over July 3rd and 4th we took a trip to Nevada to see the Lehman Caves and spend time with Curtis' parents and his younger brothers. The drive seemed like it took forever but the kids were so good! Watching movies, playing games. And even little Kaleb was such a trooper for the long drive!

This was at one of our rest points after one of our cars had a problem. It was nice to get out and stretch our legs and the kids loved running around. I love these boys!

Once we got settled into our campsites the kids sat around the fire and we visited and relaxed. The kids started exploring early the next morning and found a cute little caterpillar. They giggled as he walked along their arms and they were so sad when we let him back into the wild.

Our tour of Lehman caves was scheduled for 10:30. Holly kept Kaleb while Curtis and I took the older boys into the caves, I am so glad she did because the caves were freezing cold and it would have been hard to carry him through all of the small spots.

The caves were so beautiful! So much history and beauty every time we turned a corner. I was amazed at all there was to see!

All in all it was a good trip. It was a very long drive for just one night but we are hoping to go back next year and spend some more time exploring and visiting other places. It was so nice to spend time as a family and get away, even for one night!

On July 2nd we went with my dad and my brother, Gage to Jordanelle and went fishing and boating. My mom was kind enough to keep Kaleb for the day and Curtis and I had a great a lot of fun spending time with the older boys!

Grandpa drove really slow as we rode the tube around the lake! The boys wanted to go fast, but I was the big chicken!

The water was 58 degrees and Kaden loved jumping in and out of the boat! I couldn't believe how much fun he had considering how cold it was!! But he had a blast!

Cameron's Preschool Graduation

On June 11th Cameron had his end of year Preschool Program! It was so cute! They sang some wonderful songs and had a special military presentation. He sang so loud and often times got the crowd laughing with his enthusiasm! He loved preschool this year and he can't wait to start his 4 year class this year! He is so smart and loves to spend time with his little friends!

On May 26th Kaden's school had their end of year Kindergarten program. Each child was asked to dress up into something that would show what they wanted to do when they were older. Kaden instantly knew that he wanted to dress up in Curtis' Army uniform. He looked so cute!

Each child walked down the runway as Mrs. Miller read a short paragraph about Kaden. It talked about all of the wonderful characteristics that Kaden has and what he wants to do when he grows up and what he was most looking forward to about first grade. It was such a special day! I can't believe how fast the year flew by!

This past Sunday, May 1st we blessed our sweet baby boy at church. The weather was just beautiful and after the services at Church, we invited all of our family and friends over for a delicious brunch.

Easter 2011!

For Easter this year Curtis had to work all weekend so the boys and I celebrated with my family for the weekend. We had a lot of fun at my dad's house. He cooked a yummy brunch for us on Saturday morning and did a fun Easter egg hunt for them in his backyard!

On Monday, we went to visit Curtis' parents and they gave the boys chocolate cake eggs. I wish I had a picture because Kaden really, I mean really enjoyed that egg! He ate every bite!

First of all, I CAN'T BELIEVE I HAVE A 6 YEAR OLD!!
My goodness how time flies! Here are my favorite 6 things about Kaden:

1. He has the best smile in the world!

2. He is the funniest kid ever!

3. He is extremely smart!

4. He is a tender hearted boy with love for everyone!

5. He has a testimony of the gospel.

6. He makes me a better person

Of course there are hundreds of other things, but those are the first that come to mind. I'm confident I could have made that list 600!

We got to spend some time with my Great Grandma Bessie (the boys' Great Great Grandma.. holy cow!) At her Easter Party at her assisted living home. They put on great parties for the holidays and it is so wonderful to see her and catch up. It was her first time seeing little Kaleb and she was thrilled!

She was so happy to hold him and she didn't want to let him go. She kept telling me how wonderful little babies are and how precious they are. She told me that families aren't as big today as they were back then and I was so lucky to have him. She kept telling me that she got to hold him for a long time and she loved him so much!

Hydronephrosis and Stage 5 Reflux

I'll be the first to admit that the first few weeks Kaleb was here were probably some of the hardest moments in my life. During my pregnancy, the Doctors noticed that Kaleb had enlarged kidneys. They told us of a few thing that might be going on and also told us that there was a chance he would grow out of them before being born. On the day of our delivery, they did another ultrasound and his kidney's were still enlarged. We had already told our pediatrician and he had begun working with the Urologists at Primary Children's Medical Center. We knew our course of action after delivery and we felt relieved to know that this was caught before he was born instead of too late in his life.

The day after he was born, they had an ultrasound done at the hospital and sent the results to PCMC to have them looked at. After we got home, they called and told us that it looked like he had reflux of the kidneys and that we would need to get a VCUG (Voiding Cystourethogram) done to determine how sever the reflux was. Their guess was that it was a 1 or a 2 and we would go from there. The VCUG was done at PCMC in Riverton and it involves putting a catheter in Kaleb, filling up his bladder as full as it will go, then while his body empties the fluid, they take x-rays of how his body does so. This takes about 45 minutes and it caused some discomfort for him and he was such a trooper. I know for a fact I cried more than he did. They told us that day that he had stage 5 reflux. I was so heartbroken. So upset and bitter that my little boy had to suffer. I tried really hard to count my blessings and be grateful that we caught everything early enough. He was such a strong little guy and I was so proud of him.

A couple of days after that, our pediatrician called and said that PCMC wanted to do a Renal Scan at the hospital because his left kidney was enlarged but it did not have reflux. We had our Renal Scan done on February 14th. It involved another catheter and an IV in his hand for dye to be put throughout his body. Once again, I cried more than he did and he was such a trooper!

Here is Kaleb getting his Renal Scan done. He had weights placed across his legs and arms and had to hold still for the entire test. Luckily he could eat a bottle during the test and then he fell right asleep.

A few days after the test the doctor called and said he had Hydronephrosis of the left kidney. (Basically an enlarged kidney.) They had not determined what was causing this but we would need to meet with the Urologist at PCMC in 6 weeks and do another Ultrasound to see if things were improving.

Up at PCMC we had the ultrasound and met with Dr. Cartwright to talk about the long term plan for Kaleb. He told us that he definitely had the stage 5 reflux on the right kidney and hydronephrosis on the left kidney. Apparently, having 2 different kidney defects, one on each side is very rare and we would need to keep Kaleb on antibiotics everyday until they kidneys fixed themselves or he had surgery. (Which would be determined at about 1 year of age.)

Here is a picture that the doctor drew for us. Looking at the picture, the left side is the right kidney with the reflux. The valve that goes from the ureter to the bladder is too short so it can't keep the urine from backing up into the kidney. The right side, the left kidney shows the enlarged kidney and that valve into the bladder is too narrow, causing the urine to take longer to drain.

So we are constantly praying that Kaleb's body can fix both of these problems and we are making sure there are no UTI's or Kidney Infections for our little man. It was definitely a rough 8 weeks at our house but we really are grateful that he was diagnosed early enough so we can keep an eye on it!

Our sweet baby boy was born on February 1st, 2011 at 11:31pm. He was 20.5 inches long and 6 lbs 12.8 ounces.

The three days before his delivery were chaotic and difficult. Starting Sunday (the 30th) I was in Labor and Delivery with a terrible migraine, blurry vision and high blood pressure. I was there for a few hours and was sent home on bed rest for the remainder of the pregnancy. I was told to come back if I had vision changes again and was told to do my best to take it easy. On Monday afternoon my vision changes came back and the migraine was worse. Once again we went back to Labor and Delivery to make sure things weren't out of control. Once again, I was sent home and told to take it easy. The following day (the 1st) I had a routine ultrasound and doctors appointment. My blood pressure was really high and my doctor wanted me to have a non-stress test done to make sure everything else was ok. Kaleb was fine during the stress test. He was having great heart accelerations but they were worried about the severity of the migraine and I began to get puffy in my face and legs. My doctor thought it was best that I be induced because the migraine had been so persistent for three days. We went straight from my doctors appointment to Labor and delivery... and the fun began.

It took us about an hour to get checked in and settled into Labor and Delivery. I was positive for GBS so they started my antibiotics and the pitocin as soon as we got settled. They started the pitocin off really slow and increased it slightly about 4 hours later when I finished my second dose of antibiotics. Soon after, the contractions started getting consistent and pretty strong and I was told that Kaleb was face down instead of face up as he should be. They thought that breaking my water would help him readjust and then I would start dilating faster (I was dilated to a 3 when I got there.) They broke my water and they gave me another half an hour to see if things progressed any further. All of the sudden 3 nurses and a doctor came in and told me that Kaleb's heart rate was dropping into the 60's with every contraction. They said his heart rate would bounce back up as soon as the contraction was over, but he only had so much reserve and could only handle that for a short while. (I still had 7 cm to go and they didn't think he could hold out that long.) They gave me a shot in my arm to stop the contractions and they wheeled us to the OR and prepped for a C-Section. They waited for about 10 minutes to see if Kaleb would keep his heart rate up through a couple of contractions and they felt that he was doing much better and after rolling around and moving beds, maybe he readjusted himself off of the cord or face up. So they decided to send me back to my room and try again for a normal delivery.

Once we were back in my room they started on the pitocin again (very slow) and checked to see if I had dilated any further. I was close to a 4 but the nurse felt his little nose coming down first instead of the back of his head. About 10 minutes later all of the doctors came back in and said his heart rate was doing the same as before and they were going to take me back to the OR. Curtis got re-dressed and we headed back to the OR. The doctors talked for a minute and told me that because I wasn't dilated far enough and he was struggling, the best thing to do was have a C-section. I think in that moment those were the hardest words for me to hear. I was scared, scared of the unknown, worried about Kaleb and myself and afraid of everything that was ahead of us! My adrenaline was sky high and I started shaking really bad. They gave me some medicine to help relax the shakes and increased the medicine in the epidural. About 10 minutes later they started the C-section and 10 minutes after that (I think) I heard the sweet cry of Kaleb. I wanted to see him so bad and at the same time I wanted to sleep, I felt like I could crash at any moment and sleep for days. Curtis saw him and told me how perfect he was and how great he looked, that is when I fell asleep for a few minutes.. only to wake up to the sweet face of our little boy. Healthy, bright-eyed and finally here!! It was another hour before we were taken back to our room for recovery and it was so wonderful to see all of our family there supporting us. It was a scary delivery and something that I was not prepared for. But I am so grateful for the amazing Labor and Delivery doctors that took care of us and we are so happy to have our sweet Kaleb in our lives.

Halloween Highlights!

Halloween came and went so fast this year!

The boys were very excited for Halloween. Kaden dressed up as Mario from the Super Mario Bros. Nintendo and Cameron was Woody from Toy Story!

Once again we did our Halloween Houses! The boys love making houses from graham crackers and decorating them!

The boys and I went to visit my Great Grandma Bessie with my mom last week for her Halloween Party! It was also her birthday that week and she was turning the young age of 94! She is the sweetest person ever! The boys loved sitting with her and talking to her. She told Kaden at least a dozen times that she loved his hat and he thought it was pretty funny! I feel it is such a blessing that my boys have a Great-Great-Grandma! Not many kids can say that and I feel so grateful that they can visit her and know her!

Wendover Air Show!

Last weekend Curtis volunteered/was forced to work the Wendover Air Show for the National Guard. The boys and I met him in Wendover on Friday night and went to dinner at Pizza Hut. The boys love going to hotels, they think its so cool to sleep somewhere else! After dinner we went back to the hotel, Curtis got the boys ready for bed and I went and played the slots for a little bit with my brother and sister-in-law. Curtis and I switched places and he spent some time with his brother. It was nice to finally get to bed, however we only got a few hours that night, it was a LONG night! Kaden had to share a bed with us and it was down right uncomfortable! I am so grateful for my nice bed at home, I will never take it for granted again!

The following morning, Curtis had to leave bright and early to head to the airport so the rest of us had a quick breakfast at Burger King and headed to the Air Show. The boys loved all of the cool airplanes and helicopters and it was nice to spend some time with Curtis off and on while he worked too!

Utah State Fair... Again!

So the day after we had gone to the fair, my good friend Jolene invited me to go again. I was pretty persistent at saying no, but she won and I met them at the State Fair. The boys were so excited to go again, and I am glad that Jolene 'forced' me to go with them, we had another great day!

Utah State Fair

We went to the Utah State Fair with my dad, Jenn and her kids and my brother on opening weekend. The weather was just right and the boys were so excited to see all of the animals and ride some rides!

First Days of School!

I still can't believe Kaden started Kindergarten. I knew the first day would be hard, on me.... I didn't want to see my big guy go off on his own! Yes, he did preschool, but there is something big about Kindergarten, a bigger school, going every day, homework! We dropped him off, hung out in his classroom for a few minutes and went on our way. It wasn't until we were about 5 minutes away, that I looked back and saw his empty seat in the car, that is when I cried, I cried like a big baby!

We decided to enroll Cameron in 3 year old preschool at Little Learners Academy. He has been so excited! To be a big kid and to go to school just like brother did! We took him to school and he went straight into his classroom. His teacher, Miss. Star gave him a name tag, showed him where his cubby for his backpack was and showed him where his seat was at the table. He played with toys and was completely oblivious to Curtis and I leaving, even with the several attempts I gave to say goodbye. I watched him for several minutes through the one-way mirror they have and he had a great time. Of course I cried, but now I love my Tuesday and Thursday mornings with a couple of hours to myself! It's a good thing, all around!

Make-A-Wish Foundation Ducky Derby!

Our good friend's, the Doyle's invited us to spend the day with them at the Make-a-Wish Foundations Annual Ducky Derby. This annual fundraiser raises money for the Make-A-Wish foundation who grants wishes to kids who suffer with diseases and other illnesses that affect their lives. Their darling girl Emily was a recipient of a Make-A-Wish last year and got to spend a week in Disneyworld with her family. We were so grateful that we could attend this great day with our dear friends.

All of the kids got duck whistles and got to parade around the pool!
Before the derby people purchased ducks to race along the river. After several rounds, the ducks were narrowed down to one winner who was awarded with a $15,000 certificate towards the purchase of a car!

Children's Museum

Curtis and I had a blast taking the boys to the Children's Museum at the Gateway. It was such a great way for us to spend time as a family, it always seems like there is so much going on and so much work to do, it was a good time for us to stop and spend some much needed time as a family, regardless of other things that needed to be done!

Demolition Derby!!

Back in August (Yes, I am that far behind on my blogging) The kids and I went to the South Jordan Demolition Derby with my dad, his girlfriend, her kids and my brother! We had such a great time! The boys loved watching all the cars smash into each other and had a great time yelling with Grandpa!

Marquardson Family Reunion 2010

We went to the Marquardson Family Reunion from July 23-26th in Ely, Nevada. It is an annual event and it is a lot of fun to see all of Curtis' family. They travel from California, Washington, Utah and Nevada. This year, Curtis' family was in charge of choosing a theme and games for the reunion. We decided to do a military theme for the weekend and it turned out great!

Each family had their own company and designed their own company flag! With each game and activity there were 1st, 2nd and 3rd place ribbons. It was fun to have a competitive streak throughout the weekend. We had a tank course with the four wheeler, a relay race with a lot of team work and Curtis made bottle rocket launchers that each family had to put together and hit a target. That one was my personal favorite!

Each morning started off with a flag ceremony and we had a lot of free time to visit and spend time with eachother.

The weekend seemed to go by really fast but we had a great time! Next year the plan is to have the reunion in California! It will be here before we know it!

Cameron's 3rd Birthday!

On the 17th we celebrated Cameron's 3rd Birthday!! The weather was scorching hot so we rented a blowup bouncer with a water slide. The kids LOVED it and the smile on Cameron's face was priceless. We invited all of our family and close friends to help us celebrate. We had cold cut sandwiches and delicious salads and I made chocolate covered strawberries.. Cameron's favorite!

Our good friend Bruce invited us up to his cabin to look at a Trailer that he so graciously gave to us! We spent several hours at his cabin enjoying the nice breeze and a good bucket of KFC! It was nice to spend time with him and the boys loved a small creek that ran through his property!

Curtis spent his two week training with the Army at Airport 2 last month and after it was all over they hosted an awesome BBQ for their families!

The boys were so excited to get close to the helicopters that Curtis gets to fuel and they loved getting to wear some of the gear that the pilots wear! Cameron said, "Mommy, that was very heavy!"

Well the day finally came, my big guy graduated Preschool!! It was such an awesome experience with Kaden at Little Learners Academy this year! What an amazing school! Kaden loved every day at school and I cant wait for Cameron to start there this fall!

Clubhouse Upgrades

So Curtis is a genius! I'm serious! He always thinks of fun creative ways to make things for our boys that they LOVE! Me on the other hand, I'm not so open minded. I really should learn that Daddy knows best!

His work was throwing out some old machine parts so he asked if he could have them. They gave him a property pass and he brought buttons, tags and a panel home and made a cockpit for the boys clubhouse. He even attached a handheld radio and an old computer joystick to it so the boys could pretend they were flying! The absolutely love it!

Back in June, Kaden's preschool had a field trip to Wheeler Farm! They always love for siblings to come along so it was a lot of fun to spend some time with the boys at the farm. The Living Planet Aquarium

Last Friday the 21st, I took the boys to the Aquarium and their Uncle Chase and Uncle Gage joined us! We had so much fun! It was so nice to spend some time with my brothers, with them always being away at school we rarely get to have time with the three of us!

Crohn's Walk 2010

On Saturday, May 15th was the annual CCFA Take Steps for Crohn's and Colitis Walk! I had the opportunity to serve as a volunteer again this year and I think this year was a great success! The weather was perfect and there was a great turnout!

As hard as Crohn's is, these little faces keep things positive. I am blessed to have found a medicine that works for me and has allowed me to have a wonderful life. Many people with Crohn's disease are bed ridden, cannot work and have very little contact with anyone outside of their home. I'm grateful for every opportunity that I have been given, to be a wife and a mom are some of the greatest blessings I have.

Which leads me to saying thank you to my husband, Curtis; You knew that I had Crohn's when you married me, you knew how rough the road ahead could be and you still signed up for it! You are an amazing man and a wonderful husband. Thank you for loving me and my 'rotten guts' Your my best friend and the love of my life! Thank you for always supporting me, and loving me with all of my flaws. XOXO

Men...Being Boys (Part 2)

We had a couple of dead aspen trees in our yard that needed to be cut down. I asked Curtis if he could take care of that and he said of course, but it needed to be cool! So Mike and Curtis tied the first tree to Curtis' truck and yanked it out of the yard! (I thought it could be cut down in pieces and dig the trunk up, but no! It has to be done with power!) Sadly, I lost several tulip bulbs and a huge hole was left in our flower bed! As soon as Curtis pulled it out of the ground he decided it would be fun to drive it around the neighborhood! All the while, Mike was laughing and screaming with delgiht! It was very funny!

Busy Day at Home!

Last Saturday we got up early, got the house cleaned and headed to Home Depot to pick out fence stain! I think we have been avoiding this job because it is so much work! When we got to Home Depot they wanted us to buy the same stuff we put on our fence a couple of years ago. We told them how it was peeling off and we were not happy with the product, longs story short: They covered the cost of our new (and much better) product! I was very happy about this!

As soon as we got home the boys were excited to help us get to work. They both got the idea to wear their Home Depot aprons! They look so cute!

I don't have a finished picture but it looks awesome! I love the color Curtis picked out (way to go honey) and it really adds a lot to our house. After Curtis and I painted the fence on the East side I got to work on the West side of the house. I got about half way and wanted to give up! Instead my good friend Jolene came over to help! She helped me finish the fence and then helped me plant 142 petunias in the yard! It looks amazing!
We finished off the night with pizza and good friends!

T-Ball Game

Kaden has been having a lot of fun in T-Ball this year! He is quite the hitter!! He loves hitting the ball but has an issue with throwing the bat after he hits! At his last game he hit the ball, threw the bat and instead of running to first he turned towards home to put the bat away. It was very sweet! I love watching my little man enjoy sports and having a good time and making friends! Here are just a few pictures from his game last week!

Kaden had his 5 year checkup a couple of weeks ago and he did great! My big guy weighs 40 pounds and is 41 inches tall! Sadly he had to suffer through 4 shots, but was a tough guy and got a Slurpee for his bravery! He didn't do very well on his eye test so we did a follow up visit with a wonderful eye doctor and he has farsightedness and a mild astigmatism. They think he will grow out of the farsightedness but we are hoping the astigmatism wont get any worse. Overall he has 20/25 vision so he does not have to get glasses. He was such a brave boy! I can't believe he is starting Kindergarten this year! He is such a big boy! Love you little man!

California ~ Day 6 & 7

We checked out of our Hotel and headed home! The boys were really upset to leave and said we needed to go back to Disneyland! We got off to a good start on our drive and my dad called us and asked us if we wanted to meet him in Mesquite and stay the night and go swimming the next day! We thought it would be a great way to finish off our vacation! We met up with my dad and his girlfriend and her kids in Mesquite and we checked into our hotel. Then we met up with some friends at a Chinese Restaurant for dinner! It was nice to relax and unwind from our long drive. After dinner, Lauren and her friend watched the boys for us and we spent some time in the casino with my dad and Jenn. No, we didn't win anything but it was nice to relax.

The next day we got up and met my dad at the Casablanca Hotel Pool! I love this pool! I thought for sure we would spend the day trying to encourage Kaden to swim on his own and to briefly let go of the edge long enough to try. So we stopped at a Walgreens and I bought him some arm floaties. He thought they were pretty cool and once he learned it helped him float, he was a little fish! He was swimming all over the pool and going down the water slides all by himself! I couldn't believe it! He had so much fun! Cameron and Grandpa liked using the water guns to shoot everyone and Cameron loved going down the slide with Curtis.

Finally we decided to head home, once again, the boys were not happy to go and they made a big fuss about leaving. It felt like a rather quick drive home from Mesquite to Salt Lake but like Curtis' Grandpa says, "What is one thing that goes faster than a rocket?"...."A Vacation!"

California ~ Day 5

Sea World Day! On the Thursday of our trip we made the drive to San Diego to go to Sea World. They gave our entire family free admission for military so we could not pass it up! The park was pretty empty and we were able to see everything up close! The boys loved the dolphins and the Orca Whale show! We decided to sit in row 6 of the soak zone, I of course wearing my stylish poncho! The boys loved it when Shamu swam around flipping water at everyone, only for our family to walk away completely dry! I loved the whale show! It just amazes me that something of that size can jump as high as it did!! After the whale show we went to lunch and then towards Elmo's Land to ride the rides and climb the ropes. We had a lot of fun rope climbing and letting the boys get their wiggles out before putting them back in the stroller to go see more animals! They loved the big jungle jims and rides at Elmo's Land, so we promised that we would go back later. After the fun rides we went and saw the Sea Lions, Sharks, Fresh Water fish and flamingos! Then we went and saw Elmo's Movie in 4D! The boys loved it!! After Elmo we went to the stadium to see the Sea Lion show! I think this was the boys favorite!! They especially liked the sea otter who did all of the cute tricks! Then we headed to the Sea Lion feeding station and bought a plate of fish so the boys could feed the Sea Lions! I asked Curtis to video tape it! Kaden was holding his fish straight out ready to throw it and an obnoxious bird swooped down and took it right from his hand!! He giggled and thought it was the coolest thing ever!! I told Curtis I couldn't wait to rewatch it on video, only for him to tell me that he forgot to hit record!!! So, I forced him to buy us another plate of fish, and the nice lady behind the counter gave us 3 plates!! We (carefully this time) fed the Sea Lions and had a lot of fun with them, and yes we got it on video!
After our Sea Lion adventure we headed back to Elmo's Land, rode the rides, climbed the ropes and let the boys get their wiggles out before our long drive back to the hotel!
We left Sea World and headed back to the hotel and decided to stop and visit the San Diego Temple. It was so beautiful and the Missionary showed us some amazing pictures of inside of the Temple. We listened as he told us about the reconstruction they are doing to the surface of the Temple, which will be completed sometime this Fall. Curtis and I have set a goal to go back sometime and do some ordinances. I am looking forward to that!
By the time we got back to the hotel we were all ready for a good nights rest! I didn't want our vacation to be over! We had so much fun as a family and it was nice to have just the four of us!

California ~ Day 4

Our second day of Disneyland!! We got up and had breakfast at the hotel and made our long walk to Disneyland. On the way there traffic was stopped in a major intersection because a mommy and her baby ducks were waddling there way across the street. The boys were so excited! It was a lot of fun to see them try to jump the curb, eventually someone had to use a piece of cardboard to help the little ones up. We decided to hit California Adventures first. We took our pictures on all of the California letters, its a must for me! It makes the cutest scrapbook page!! Anyways, we stopped to see the Playhouse Disney Show, which the boys eventually decided they didn't want to see. So we headed to Monster's Inc and rode that ride with the boys. Then Curtis decided he wanted to try and take Kaden to the Hollywood House of terror, which then was a bust because Kaden got scared. So we walked along the pier towards Toy Story and the Farris wheel! We decided to go on the Farris wheel and ride in the cages that swung as the Farris wheel went around, NOT a good idea! Just as we came over the top of the wheel, our cart swung straight towards the water below, and I mean way below!! Luckily my back was towards the drop and Cameron was securely on my lap, but poor Kaden was screaming and Curtis turned white as a ghost. Needless to say, we asked to get off and didn't make another ride around! After all of that excitement the Toy Story ride was open so we rode that. We loved it, all because we are big Toy Story Fans. Then we made our way towards Bugs Life and rode all of the Kiddie Rides with the boys.
We spent a few more hours at the park and then headed towards Downtown Disney to make our way towards Goofy's Kitchen! I love Goofy's Kitchen, I went there as a kid and have gone ever since. We had an awesome buffet with Peanut Butter & Jelly Pizza! The boys loved it, and they got to meet a lot of fun Disney characters! But sadly, my boys (including Curtis) refused to get their picture with Sleeping Beauty!!
After dinner we went back to Disneyland and rode Buzz Lightyear, Thunder Mountain Railroad and all of our favorites from the day before! The weather was just right and we had a lot of fun as a family!
The boys fell asleep in the stroller before I could count to 10!

California ~ Day 3

FINALLY!! Day 3 was all Disney! We got up and had breakfast at the hotel and made the walk to Disneyland! (Our hotel was about a mile and a half from Disneyland.) Of course the first thing we did was get our picture taken in front of the train stop and Mickey! They gave the boys a pin that said 1st Visit!! They loved it! We headed over to Star Tours and the Buzz Lightyear ride and literally spent 3 hours in that part of the park! Kaden could not get enough of Star Tours! He LOVED it! He had everyone on the ride laughing because he could not contain his excitement! Because Cameron was too short to ride Star Tours, sad I know, Curtis and I took turns taking him on the Flying Rockets or to Buzz Lightyear. He thought that was pretty cool! We then stopped for lunch and headed towards Dumbo, TeaCups and Toon Town! The boys loved Dumbo, but then again, who doesn't? They had a blast on the teacups! We headed to Toontown and the boys loved playing around in the fun house and with all the cars they had around the area. We waiting in line for the roller coaster and poor little Cameron was once again too short to ride! They let us go twice with Kaden and Cameron was not too happy about it. Eventually we found Chip & Dale's Treehouse and he thought that was pretty cool! They explored there for awhile and then we headed to Micky Mouse's house and met him! After ToonTown we took a train ride around Disneyland and then the rain started! So we got on It's a Small World and rode that (Some of us slept..i.e. Curtis) and the rain was getting worse! So we caved and bought ponchos only to have the rain stop about an hour later, which was fine by me! Cameron fell asleep in the stroller so we went to Adventure Land and rode Haunted Mansion and Pirates (Cameron eventually woke up) and then Curtis and Kaden rode Thunder Mountain Railroad! Kaden LOVED this one too!! He is getting so brave! I took Cameron back to Dumbo while the big boys rode the railroad. Then it was time for dinner so we ate and then wandered back to It's a Small World just in time for the Fireworks! They were awesome! Kaden fell asleep during the fireworks and Cameron fell asleep on the walk home! They had such a great day!

California ~ Day 2

After a fun buffet breakfast in Las Vegas we hit the road for another fun day! Curtis' Uncle told us about a place a couple hours out of Las Vegas called Calico Ghost Town. He said it was a fun little stop and a great way to break up the drive. All of us LOVED this place! Most of the buildings at Calico were the original houses where people lived. Calico was the most wealthiest mine in California for silver. It used to be quite the busy town and they mined nearly all of the silver they could. There is a spot that has at least 6 million dolloars worth of silver left in it, but it would cost you 10 million just to get it out, not really worth it! Anyways, the boys loved getting their wiggles out and seeing all of the neat things at Calico. We got to walk into one of the old mining shafts so see how they worked! I think the boys favorite thing of all was the train ride around the city! They got to see a lot of old mining spots and some amazing views of the city!

After Calico we got some lunch and hit the road again. The drive felt pretty short that day and we arrived at our hotel around dinner time. We checked in and relaxed and ordered pizza for dinner. It was nice to kick back and relax. After dinner we ran to a local store and got some snacks and water for our Dinsey days ahead!

Each of us got a much needed good nights rest that night, which was a good thing because day 3 was all Disney!

California ~ Day 1

We left for California on Sunday the 18th. We finally got out the door around 11am and headed towards St. George to visit Curtis' Grandparents.

The boys LOVE roadtrips because they get to watch their favorite movies in the car! We had lots of snacks and it was a very pleasant drive to St. George.

We got to St. George around dinner time and spent some time with Curtis' Grandparents, as well as Uncle Dave and Aunt Sherri. Uncle Dave gave the boys a bowl of fresh fruit and donut holes- which they loved!

Grandma had a cute bird made out of some metal parts and Kaden called it the 'Garbage Bird', everyone got quite a kick out of it!

After our visit and a quick stop for dinner we headed to Las Vegas where we were going to stay the night. We checked into the Circus Circus Hotel and took the boys to the Adventuredome for an hour so they could get their wiggles out! We were so excited to drive to California the next day!!

First of all, I can't believe my big guy is 5...Oh my gosh!!

We had a great day on Kaden's birthday! We had our traditional pancake stack with whip cream, sprinkles and a candle for breakfast! He loves this every year!

Then he opened his gifts and loved his new DiDj!

After we had breakfast, we headed out the door for Kaden's T-Ball game! While we were gone, Kaden's bouncy house was being set up for the big day!
We invited our family and close friends over for a fun day outside with food and lots of fun!

Kaden's First T-Ball Game!

On Saturday the 17th Kaden had his first T-Ball game of the season! He was so excited!! We signed him up for T-Ball at Kearns Recreation and we love the program so far!

It feels like only yesterday that I held Kaden in my arms after 37 exhausting hours of labor! I looked at his precious face and felt so blessed to have this child come into our lives. I knew he was special, I knew he had something wonderful to teach me and something amazing to share with the world. He is one awesome little boy! Always with something smart and witty to say and always with a beautiful smile on his face!

Sand Dunes!!!....Or not!

On Monday we packed up the kids and half our house and headed to the Sand Dunes in Delta, Utah! We borrowed my dad's four-wheeler and Razor and we were so excited to get out and ride the sand!

We got there Monday night, played some games with Curtis' brothers and their wives and then went to bed. It was not the best of nights, the wind was so bad! It shook the trailer all night and Curtis and I got a couple hours of rest.

The next morning the wind was still really strong so we had breakfast and got the kids ready to play outside. We ended up having to move camp because a large rain storm was supposed to be coming in and where we were parked would have been a lake by the end of our trip. So we put our tent trailer down as much as possible and moved to our new camping spot. When we tried to put our trailer back up, something was wrong. The post wouldn't hold up the roof anymore!

They had to wear the goggles just to be able to see through the sand blowing everywhere!

Curtis took the side pannel off of the trailer and we still could not get it fixed. Eventually, he and his brothers rigged up a post to hold it and it worked great.

However, as we sat in the trailer eating lunch we couldn't help but notice the amount of sand that was making its way into the trailer through the stitching of the canvas. By the time I had eaten my SANDwich, literally, we decided we should go home. The boys didn't want to be cooped up in a trailer for the next three days!
So now we are home and it's great to be out of the sand...and into a snow storm! Dang that Utah weather!

From a Warrior to a Soldier

On the 27th Curtis finally had his Battle Handoff Ceremony! The Battle Handoff is for soldiers who have completed Basic Training and AIT and they get 'passed off' from their recruitment status to their actual unit!
Curtis got special recognition at the Battle Handoff because he graduated as an Honor Grad. He received a gold coin of excellence!

The soldiers that are lined up in the back are the soldiers who were handed off to their units. The other groups of soldiers in the front are those soldiers who are going to ship to Basic Training or AIT in the near future.

Curtis is in the 211th Aviation Unit at Airport 2 in West Jordan. He is excited to have his first drill date on April 9th!

19 Days and Counting!

We are so excited! We are leaving for Disneyland in just under 3 weeks! The boys and I made a paper chain, they love it!

St. Patricks Day Fun!

The day before St. Patricks day, Curtis and the boys made a trap to catch the leprachaun! Kaden and Cameron thought they needed actual tools to build their trap. They searched high and low in Curtis' tool box to find something to use!

Once Curtis showed them exactly what the trap would be like, they understood we didn't need any tools! So we got out their crayons so they could color the box! They thought that was so much fun!

The next morning, Kaden woke up bright and early to see if we caught the leprachaun! Sadly, out little Irish friend got away, but left behind some delicious chocolate coins!

For breakfast we had eggs, hashbrowns and green pancakes! I don't think Kaden could stomach the green pancakes very well, because it didn't take him long to throw them up!

At Kaden's preschool they had a party! They had Trynt the Magician come and give the kids a great magic show! Kaden's favorite magic trick was when Trynt made a pizza disappear from a box and it was stuck to his back. Kaden waited for the perfect, quiet moment to yell and Trynt and tell him he had a pizza on his butt, count on my kid to get the crowd laughin! I was embarrased!

Disney On Ice!

Last Friday my mom treated the boys and I to Disney On Ice ~ Worlds of Fantasy! The boys have been so excited to go. Every time they saw the commercial on TV they got more excited and couldn't wait for this day to arrive!

They brought their Disney on Ice crowns from last year to the show. They told everyone they were kings for the day!
Now I think it is really funny that I caught both of the boys watching the show with their tongues out!

The show started out with Mickey, Minnie, Donald & Goofy getting ready to take everyone on an adventure, but their car was having problems...

Who better to fix that problem than Lightning McQueen and Mater!

Our seats were amazing! We sat on the fourth row and saw everything up close! Cameron's little eyes were watering because he refused to blink! He didn't want to miss anything!

The popcorn was as big as him!

Next, Ariel took us on her adventure of becoming human! I loved all of the costumes and amazing ways that they made ice skaters into fish and seahorses!

After the Little Mermaid, we got to relive the adventures of The Lion King! This is the boys' favorite movie right now, and Kaden often reminds me that one day, he will be a king and he will do whatever he wants!~ I'm not so sure about that!

After intermission we got to see the story of Tinkerbell and her fairy story. The bright colors kept the boys attention but at one point I leaned over to Kaden and asked him if he liked the show. He simply replied, "Yes I like the show, but I hate Tinkerbell!"

Cameron on the other hand said Tinkerbell was his favorite!

So after Curtis spent the last six months with the National Guard we decided we would take the boys to Disneyland!! They are so excited and we cant wait! We decided that we are going to drive and take a break half way in Vegas, that way we have more cash to spend in California! We are leaving on April 18th and should be home by the 24th! We are going to spend a couple of day at Disneyland, a day at Sea World and some time on the beach! It will be so nice to get away as a family! We can't wait!

Today I suprised the boys and took them to Jumping Jacks! It is right next to Kaden's preschool and I never considered stopping by to see what it was. So a couple days ago I looked on-line, got some info and thought it would be a fun way to spend an hour with the boys. I ended up buying a Mommy-and-Me pass so we can go as much as we want for the next month!

They loved it! It was a padded gym with 7 different bounce houses and slides. They weren't just any ordinary bounce house, these things were bigger than my house!

They loved every minute of it, and I didnt get very many pictures because I got to join in the fun and bounce along with them!

On Saturday Curtis took Kaden to Home Depot for their Kid Workshop. (Sadly, Cameron was too young, but there is always next time.) They made their own water catcher and other than holding the nails for him, Kaden built the house all by himself! He is so proud of it!

Before leaving Home Depot, Kaden asked the associate if he could have an apron for his little brother. That just melts my heart!

Bathtime... Grandma Style!

At this point in the motherhood rollercoaster, my goal at bathtime is to get my boys in.. and then back out! I'm outnumbered! I want to get the least amount of water on the floor not to mention my clothes, but not Grandma!

The boys would rather Grandma give them a bath any day of the week over me! Here is why:

1. She fills the water a few inches from the top.

2. She adds bubbles, and lots of them.

3. She turns on the jets so that the small amount of bubbles she did add, quadrouple instantly!

4. She shuts the curtain so they can jump and splash to their hearts content

5. They play in the water as long as they want, even if its until the water is cold and their lips are blue!

Now Cameron is my 'little guy'. He is tiny for his age, but he has the daringness of a lion. This boy was jumping all over the place in that bathtub. He was under the water and right back up covered in millions of suds! You can't blame the kid, it was like a water park in his own house!
Kaden... this boy loves the bubbles too! Telling Cameron of course to try all the daring stuff first, just to see if his little brother makes it out alive before trying it himself. He likes to lay on his belly and ride the waves!

I think their bath lasted close to 45 minutes that day. There was a good amount of water on the floor by the time they were done, but it forced me to get my 'mopping' done. And I think the boys slept pretty well that night. They love bathtime!

The first time it got above 45 degrees at our house, we knew it was time to get out and shake our wiggles!! The boys have missed their clubhouse since we put all the toys away, took down the swings and prepared it for winter! Well, finally! We got to go outside and play! The boys were thrilled to play on the swings and in their clubhouse! This just gets us more and more anxious for Summer!

Cameron did not like swings last year. He would always swing on his tummy. But not this year! He loves it!
Lately Kaden cant take a picture without his tongue out or making a silly face!

Valentines Day

We had a fun, relaxing Valentine's Day! I woke up and made us heart shaped pancakes for breakfast and my boys thought it was the best thing ever!!

Curtis and I got the boys cute bags of goodies. Their favorite was the twistable crayons from Crayola! They love them!

Grandma Lesa gave the boys a cute Monster shirt and a lot of fun goodies!

Grandpa Fred came over and brought the boys a gift from him and Holly. They made the cutest little snow globes with pictures of them in it! The boys love them!

He's Home!!

On February 11th Curtis graduated from AIT (Advanced Individual Training), from Ft. Lee, Virginia. He worked so hard at school and graduated as a distinguished Honor Grad with a 98.3 GPA! He is going to be a refueler for the 211th at Airport 2!

I was not able to attend his graduation, but he made sure to get me some pictures of his day! I think he looks so handsome!

Curtis' flight got in at 11:59 PM. I put the boys to bed at 8 and woke them up around 11pm to go to the airport. They were so excited! I packed them some snacks and Curtis landed right on time! It was very emotional for me. I was so excited to have him home, but I think the last 6 months caught up with me and I was grateful it was over! It's a new adventure for our family, and I'm sure it is one that will help us in our future.

The boys wanted to help with Curtis' bags. Granted, it was 50 lbs, but they loved it!

I'm so glad your home Curtis, I love you with all my heart and I am SO proud of you!

Two Tickets To Paradise... Well, almost!

My mom and I went to Wendover on January 29th to see Eddie Money! Everyone I've talked to asked, "who's that?" I was raised on Eddie Money, Journey and all the good bands in the 80's. So when my mom and I saw the billboard for this concert we thought, what the heck? So once again, my awesome friend Jolene took the boys overnight for me and my mom and I hit the road around 3pm. We had energy shots on hand and had a great drive to Wendover. There was rarely a quiet moment in the car because we always have something to talk about and I love spending time with my mom!!

And as you can see, we kept close to the speed limit and our Rock On Energy Shots did the trick!

Now I know for a fact celebrities are not graceful at aging either, but poor Eddie! My mom and I were ready to have 911 on speed dial because we thought the poor guy was going to pass out. All in all, it was a good concert and a lot of fun to relax with my mom!

Preschool Field Trip

On January 25th Kaden's preschool had a field trip to the Living Planet Aquarium. My good friend watched Cameron for me and Kaden and I got to spend a couple of hours together, it was so much fun! When we got to the aquarium they had a fun program for the kids inside the sunken ship. They taught them about fish and how they use the colors around them to camouflage their bodies. Then they gave them a paper with a lot of different fish on it and told them to circle the fish that they could find. It was so nice to have the aquarium all to ourselves, Kaden ran from one exhibit to another and he had a blast. We eventually found all of the animals on our paper and spent a lot of time letting Kaden play with his school friends.
